A Happy New Year ! I had visited to a temple and a shrine on 1st of January. There were many people who put on casual wear. When I was a child, people had put the Kimono or the new cloths for new year and changed to the mind “Something special”. I would keep the Japanese culture on this condition. Also, the traditional cuisines for new year are not popular any more. The reasons are our change of worth and it is very hard to forecast the near future ?
The motives of KIMONO for good luck are crane and turtle which live long, pine/bamboo/apricot, all treasure etc. The displayed KIMONO with crane and pine/bamboo/apricot, and the dress remade from HAORI jacket like RIMPA are shown “Happiness”. The remade dress might be the best for overseas tour.
I am sorry KADOMATSU which is a decoration for new year has been decreased recently.
