I attended the New Year Party of ACCJ at Portpia Hotel Kobe last night. Due to the windy weather, the lobby was so quiet and the piano stage on the water looked so refined. My dream was born to sing a song on this stage wearing my kimono dress if my ability becomes higher.

What a nice view of the party place on 30^th floor it was !

Who was the guest ? It was the American ambassador, Caroline Kennedy. She looked like an entertainer and was surrounded by many members. I explained my remade jacket from Kimono and passed my name card. Her reaction “Oh! Great~~” was only 20 seconds talking. I knew she stayed for short time, but many members felt sorry. As taking photo was not allowed, my photos were taken on other floor by hotel staff.

How do you think about my new showy designed jacket ? Which stands out, my jacket or the painting ?

A Happy New Year !  I had visited to a temple and a shrine on 1^st of January. There were many people who put on casual wear. When I was a child, people had put the Kimono or the new cloths for new year and changed to the mind “Something special”. I would keep the Japanese culture on this condition. Also, the traditional cuisines for new year are not popular any more. The reasons are our change of worth and it is very hard to forecast the near future ?

The motives of KIMONO for good luck are crane and turtle which live long, pine/bamboo/apricot, all treasure etc. The displayed KIMONO with crane and pine/bamboo/apricot, and the dress remade from HAORI jacket like RIMPA are shown “Happiness”. The remade dress might be the best for overseas tour.

I am sorry KADOMATSU which is a decoration for new year has been decreased recently.

Christmas party by GAC(Good Aging Club) !  I had invited my friend whose birthday was celebrated in this party by surprise. The party place was a famous for wedding. I also inspected there for next fashion show.  My coordinated fashion was won as the best dresser. It was also “surprise !” My dress was remade from HAORI(jacket type) KIMONO. The antique hat is very smart, isn’t it ?

“TSUJIIGAHANA”(a kind of SHIBORI) work shop at Kobe Fashion Museum. The technique is called “illusion”.  The KIMONO designer, Mr. Kubota Itchiku, had came to life the technique of “TSUJIIGAHANA”. He held his works exhibition in New York in 1985.  I remember that I felt the deep impression when I saw it. In this work shop, I learned the basic technique and made a small  “TSUJIIGAHANA”. I have understand why “TSUJIIGAHANA”　is very expensive. My cloths was remade HAORI KIMONO which has a different SHIBORI motives.

 

A farmer who has produced Yamadanishiki rice (raw material of SAKE) of DASSAI sent 30KG to ISE JINGU (shrine in Ise city) for Atelier Binosei. I was invited to the shrine ceremony. The Shinto priests and maidens were well trained to act as well as to play some Japanese instruments and dance. But I was very sorry that the worshippers were not mannered at all.

After ISE JINGU, we went to HANA-NO-IWAYA Shrine in Kumano near the sea. The explanation of festival moved my mind that ancient people had done the festival with wishes.

We must continue Japanese sprit with wishes keeping the Japanese culture not only on special occasions but also on daily life.

　

The time has been so fast , it is already Xmas time ! My talk will be broadcasted on radio on every Tuesday in December. The personality, Ms. Michiko Sakurai is also an expert of Japanese classic Dance. She selected all designs from costume, wig, to stage design. She is very small but has big energy with charm which I had studied. I would remake from this costume to a wedding gown.

「Japanese Historical Costume」Exhibition in Kobe is so amazing ! They made before World War 2.　All costumes are made through historical documents, but almost of the techniques is impossible to make again currently. I enjoyed “weaving” in the workshop. It is very worthy to see. How beautiful on fabrics, colors and silhouette !

In Kyoto, I visited a Japanese concert. The players with Kimono used Japanese instruments such as Syakuhati/Koto/Biwa/Tuzumi. The modern songs were shown by Mr. Akikawa Masafumi too. The impossible sound by Japanese instruments was helped by Synthesizers.

The dinner in my friend’s condominium whose gate with Japanese typical stone work was a dish served in a pot. How delicious with Ponzu (Japanese vinegar) and fresh Olive Oil !

My pink Jacket with autumn red leaves remade from Haori Kimono is valuable in this season.  It is very comfortable to use the recent life style with Japanese and Western harmony !

Where is here ? There were many Chinese and Korean on the bridge. A small pleasure boat was thronged with them. It looked sinking ! It was dangerous !

I visited the SHOTIKU-ZA theater in DOTONBORI to admire the Japanese dance by my friend.I would have worn KIMONO when I visit to Japanese cultural event such as KABUKI, but it takes time to put KIMONO as well as preparation/after care.Therefore I always wear the Kimono remake dress which looks more stylish keeping gorgeous and feel comfortable while long sitting.

On the slide show, SHIBORI Haori with big pine tree motif was remade to long blouse, black Haori with batik dyed motif was remade to dress, pink ground Haori was remade to high collar jacket.They are very suitable to this occasion and gives big satisfaction.

The coming remade long coat by using NUITORI-OMESI looks KABUKI costume.Where I put this gorgeous showy work ?  I am exciting !

According to a brain navigator, Mr. FUJITA Takahiro, the blood flow of brain gets well and breaks off stress when you feel big impression to see something beautiful. The brain feels glad to be impressive and lets you grow younger.

As I always feel twice impression by seeing beautiful Kimono and remade Kimono dress, people think my age is 12 years younger than I am. Here, some photos are shown some autumn flower chrysanthemums of different type of artists.

The last Kimono is not decided yet to be remade how the Kimono dress design is. I am exciting !!!

Celebration for Full Moon in Autumn brought from China by KENTOUSI which was a mission to “Tou” country in Heian period.  The aristocracy in Heian period enjoyed to admire the full moon on water. KATSURARIKYU in Kyoto is a famous residence for this special matter. In the latter term of Edo, the people habitually expressed to thanks the harvest to the moon, offering sweets, marron and potato. By wearing the kimono drawn the nature view, Japanese people loved the nature in four seasons and did “live-and-let-live” with the nature. I continuously popularize “KIMONO remake Dress” not to be uprooted the spirit. The photo is my disguise of Heian aristocracy. Why my cloths was men’s? Why not women’s ?
